About

About TRT

Templeton Religion Trust (TRT) is a global charitable trust chartered by Sir John Templeton in 1984 with headquarters in Nassau, The Bahamas. TRT has been active since 2012 and supports projects as well as storytelling related to projects seeking to enrich the conversation about religion. We are always seeking:

More Spiritual Information: More and better understanding of “the work and purpose of the Creator”

More “Benefits of Religion”: From health to “human peace, harmony, happiness, and productivity”

More Spiritual Growth: more religious innovation leading to new and improved forms/expressions of religious faith and practice.

Our aim is to improve the well-being of individuals and societies through spiritual growth and an ever-improving understanding of spiritual realities and spiritual information.

How do we achieve that?

By fueling curiosity as an invitation to participate in the conversation

By practicing transparency in storytelling

By staying nimble with a 500-year view

HOW TO ENGAGE

Our Grant Process

Templeton Religion Trust takes a proactive, relational approach to grantmaking, and so does not accept unsolicited proposals. Engaging our grant process begins with an invitation from a program officer to submit a brief prospectus. In some cases, a proposal is then invited. This is no guarantee of funding. Proposals submitted to TRT undergo a rigorous process of internal and external review.
